Just call me a big slacker

Okay, so I am the first to admit that I have been a big slacker on updating my blog. I have just been so super busy at work and with wedding plans that I haven't had the time to update or even really been in the mood to do so. I keep saying "I need to update my blog" and then don't do it, so yes, I am just being a slacker. So here's a quick review of what's been going on with us:

Thanksgiving was great. We spent Thanksgiving Day and the day after with my family and then headed down to Virginia where we did Thanksgiving with Dan's family on Saturday. It was nice to not have to rush from one house to another and to not have to stuff ourselves silly with two big meals in one day.

On Friday December 19, Dan left for Hawaii for work for two weeks. The next day, Saturday Dec 20, Angela and Alex, Tom and Jane came up to visit -- and go stuck with just me and no Dan! Angela's birthday was 12/20 so we went into the city for a nice dinner at Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill. The food was excellent and we all had a great time (but of course missed Dan). The next day we went into the city again and headed to the Metropolitan Museum of Art which was very nice. We strolled around the museum for a few hours, made a stop at the famous Zabar's for the best bagels in the world and then headed home. I think everyone had a nice time visiting and I know Mingus loved having more people around to give him even more attention and love!

Dan is still in Hawaii and was there over Christmas. It was hard to have him gone for Christmas, but I spent a few days down in Maryland with my family so that was at least nice (and a good distraction). Dan should be home January 3 -- yes, that means he will be gone for New Years too. So not that I am keeping track, but for this year he has been out of town for my birthday, for Christmas, and for New years. Thank goodness I have my ever faithful friend Mingus to keep me company and help me celebrate these holidays! ;-)

Dan and I both hope everyone had a great Christmas and we wish everyone a happy, healthy and safe New Year!
