Yesterday was Dan's 28th birthday. I can't believe we are getting so old! lol Of course I'm not as old as Dan (at least not until my bday on Oct 22 so Dan will always be a little older than me ;-) ). For his birthday I planned to take him to dinner in NYC. We are huge fans of Gordon Ramsey - the chef from a few shows on BBC network but also the chef from Hell's Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares here in the US. I made reservations at one of his restaurants, Maze by Gordon Ramsey at The London, almost 3 months ago and even then I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get a reservation. So, yesterday evening we headed into NYC for our reservation at 7:30pm. I was super excited about dinner. As we sat there and ate, I looked up and saw Gordon Ramsey himself! I was shocked! Not only did we see him, but we got to go meet him, chat with him for a minute and get our picture taken with him. I told Dan I arranged it all for his birthday but unfortunately I can't take credit for it -- it was all luck (and maybe some of that good karma I have been waiting to come around). I mean the odds of him being at this restaurant (he has two in NYC and several all over the world) are so slim. The waitress told us he comes in only a few times a year. It was definitely an experience I will never forget and I know Dan will always remember his 28th birthday!!
