Friday night, Dan and I met his friend Damon at a NJ Devils hockey game in Newark. I took the train straight from NYC to Newark where Dan met me at the train station and we continued on to the game. Damon has season tickets so he had a ticket for Dan. I planned to buy a ticket at the box office right before the game. Since it was freezing outside, Dan dropped me off in front of the arena while he went and parked the car. He waited for Damon at the parking lot while I hung out in the Devils gift shop. Luckily there was a big soft Devils recliner in the corner that I 'tested out' while I waited for Dan and Damon. I ended up making friends with a security lady there and she ended up giving me a free ticket! The game was awesome! The Devils beat the Islanders 5 - 2.
Saturday we got up and went house hunting (again for the third Saturday in a row!). Our realtor, Heather took us to some areas of West Orange we hadn't really explored yet. We saw about 8 houses - some very nice, some not very nice at all! It is amazing how the pictures of some of the houses online can be so deceiving. One house I really liked in West Orange but the big drawback is that the backyard backed up to busy road 280. Even though there was a sound barrier, it was still quite noisy but the house was gorgeous! So after being out checking houses out for about 4 or 5 hours, we realized it was getting late and we had plans to meet our friends Chris and Amy in the City for dinner. We drove into NYC (it still amazes me that we can drive about 30 minutes and be in Manhattan! So cool!). We met them at a restaurant called Aja Asian Bistro in Greenwich Village. The food was good and it was great to see them. They don't live too far from us, but we don't get together with them that often; it seems like Dan and Chris are always so busy with work. After dinner we walked around the Village for a little bit but not too long because it was freezing outside! Then we headed home to relax the rest of the night.
Sunday we didn't plan on doing too much which is just how I like my Sundays :-) Of course we ended up running errands and being out of the house until about 2:00pm. I was looking at iPhones and Dan was checking out new cell phones as well. I am going to get my iPhone very soon! My Verizon contract ends 12/4 so I am just waiting for that - can't wait! Switching to AT&T will also mean that I can talk to my mom and my sister on their cells for free. YEA!
So, that was our weekend. This week is a short week of course b/c of Thanksgiving. I am so excited to head down to Maryland and Virginia to visit with family. We are taking Mingus with us so he will get to meet my mom for the first time! I know she is super excited to meet her grandpuppy :-)
