Well last Thursday was my last day at the Maryland Dept of Business and Economic Development. The whole thing was sort of surreal and of course a mix of emotions. I am so excited to be starting my new job in NYC but also sad to leave so many colleagues whom I consider friends. DBED was a great place to work and I will always remember my time there. I was there for almost 2 1/2 years and it really flew by (unlike my job prior to that where I worked for about 1 1/2 years and it felt like 10 years!). I will really miss Rebecca, a co-worker whom I definitely count as one of my closest friends. She and I always had fun at work - who knew that was possible! - and we were always around to entertain each other when work was 'a little slow'. I managed to hold back the tears as I packed up my things and headed to my car for the last time. I told Rebecca that she was NOT allowed to cry and she held off pretty well until the very end. Of course she wasn't allowed to cry because she would make me cry!! I will really miss everyone and will definitely miss Baltimore!
So, I guess it is farewell DBED, but hello Columbia!
