Fourth of July

I can’t believe 4th of July has come and gone already! Dan and I debated whether or not to go down to Maryland to visit friends and family for the weekend but decided against going. It isn’t the longest drive but seems to be such a tiring drive; so, we stayed in New Jersey and hung out with friends Chris and Amy - Chris was in training with Dan and works at the New York field office. We met up with them in Hoboken where we relaxed and hung out for a little while. Around 6:30 or 7:00pm we decided to head to Brooklyn. Chris’s office building is in Brooklyn and they were going to let people up on the roof which was the 32nd floor to watch the fireworks across the river in Manhattan. Around 9:20pm, the fireworks started, despite the constant nagging drizzle! Even with the rain, the show was great! As Dan and I stood there watching the fireworks go off I asked him, “Did you ever think we would be standing on the roof of a building in Brooklyn watching New York fireworks?!? I know I sure never thought that it would happen!” After the fireworks display was over, we headed out into the masses of people to make our way back to Jersey. It was a great and of course memorable 4th of July! I hope everyone else had a fantastic holiday!
